    Morrison Water Services are recruiting for a Contract Director to manage our a Smart Metering Programme in the Northern Region. The contract comprises the following programmes of work:

  • Optant Metering
  • Progressive Metering
  • Household Replacement Metering
  • Non-household Replacement Metering
  • Bulk Metering
  • Smart customer side leakage repairs
  • As the Contract Director you will be accountable for the strategic and operational leadership of clients and contracts within your area of control.

    This will include responsibility for the safe and operational delivery of the Contract margin and cash/WIP targets, while meeting external and internal performance outcomes.

    You will also be responsible for delivering to World Class health, safety, quality and environmental standards and maintaining high levels of employee engagement.

    You will set the vision, strategy and objectives for the Contract in line with the overall area and the Divisional vision and strategy.

    Your role will involve:

    Managing the development of the delivery strategy for your contract, including compliance to the highest SHEQW standards, with a focus on risk and continuous improvement.

    You will be delivering specific revenue and profitability targets for each financial year and be accountable for meeting cash targets for contracts.

    You'll oversee the operational resource and activities within areas of responsibility, driving efficiency while meeting contract SLA's.

    Are you comfortable being responsible for the achievement of agreed and contractual targets for operational performance?

    Do you have experience Implementing behavioural safety programmes?

    Can you provide leadership and direction to your teams?

    You will be owning and overseeing delivery of contract business plans and driving growth of contracts more widely with clients.

    There will be the need to ensure delivery of high levels of customer and end-user satisfaction.

    Implementing improvements, efficiencies, and cost savings to maximise contract performance.

    Optimising contract cashflow and working proactively with contract teams and clients to ensure payments are received in accordance with contractual terms.

    Understanding disputes and ensuring they are resolved professionally and timely with clients and suppliers.

    Guiding, coaching and mentoring direct and indirect reports, establishing a robust succession plan within your area of responsibility.

    Collaborating with contract teams, supporting their management and adhering to MWS company values.

    You will be conducting contract re-negotiations and directing bids for new contract opportunities, together with establishing a clear win strategy.

    Collaborating closely with our Business Development Team to establish and develop detailed client strategic plans.

    Taking a central role in forming strong and effective relationships with customers' key representatives.

    You will act as a Safety and Wellbeing champion and role model, taking control in driving health, safety and wellbeing performance across your contract.

    Striving for the adoption of best practice and continuous improvement in all elements of your responsibilities including:

  • Producing contract specific margin, WIP, SHEQ and operational performance improvement plans
  • Identifying, developing and sharing best practice within contracts, across any other contracts and across MWS
  • Adopting marketing and PR activities through case studies, best practice, innovation and awards
  • Acting as an ambassador for MWS
  • Do you have a Degree or equivalent level qualification in a Construction, Engineering, Utilities and/or similar business discipline, plus relevant management or professional qualifications?

    Can you demonstrate a consistent track record of senior management experience in utility contracting or a similar environment?

    Have you gained demonstrable client management and development skills?

    Do you have excellent people leadership, coaching and mentoring skills, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills?

    Can you influence others and sell ideas effectively at the most senior level?

    Do you have a strong knowledge and experience of SHEQW policies, procedures and management, and a strong commercial and sector awareness?
