Aerospace Apprenticeship Specialist

Purpose of the position

Support the MRO Apprenticeship Manager in the delivery of the Aerospace Apprenticeship Scheme.

The role will be primarily focused on supporting the professional development of apprentices in line with the requirements of the apprenticeship standard.

This will include the provision of ongoing support and technical guidance to the individual business units and apprentice as they progress through their apprenticeship.

Accountability


Reporting into the MRO Apprenticeship Manager, this role will support the delivery of all Aerospace Apprenticeships from recruitment through to End Point Assessment with a focus on growing, developing, and retaining our talent pipeline.


Responsibilities:


  • Ensuring learners development (educational and behavioural) meets or surpasses programme requirements/standards.
  • Identify skills gaps and provide tailored technical and academic support to meet the learners needs
  • Liaison with all Aerospace individual business units (line managers and mentors) to monitor learner progression
  • Assist with recruitment activity in support of all MA apprenticeships
  • Assist with onboarding and induction of all new starters
  • Support the design of rotations to align with apprenticeship KSB's. Continuously monitor the success of rotations and make improvements.
  • Identify opportunities/exposure required in the workplace for all learners
  • Ensure all mandated reviews and assessor reviews are carried out between learner, training provider and employer representative to ensure the learners are achieving the KSBs as set out in the apprenticeship standard.
  • Ensure 20% off job learning is being met
  • Provide feedback at regular BU meetings including employer/training provider meetings

Tasks:


  • Carry out Competence Assessments
  • Participation with training provider study days
  • Develop and deliver content for 'Employer days'
  • Participation with all apprentices mandated reviews
  • Delivery of specific technical training and 'toolbox talks'
  • Identify skills gaps and develop tailored training sessions, both technical and academic
  • Participate with Outreach events
  • Advocate and promote Marshall Aerospace apprenticeship
  • Provide support with assessment of qualifications
Capability


Behavioural Competencies:

  • They will have a behaviour led approach and be confident at role modelling company values and behaviours and encouraging others to follow.
  • Have good interpersonal skills, and be able to motivate and encourage both individuals and a team

Technical Competencies:

  • A comprehensive understanding of the technical requirements in completing an apprenticeship standard
  • Understanding of MA business functions at a level appropriate to support the learner
  • A comprehensive understanding of aircraft maintenance practices and standard operating procedures
  • Awareness of Safeguarding, Prevent, British Values and SEND
  • A good understanding of professional registration and criteria
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback including raising and dealing with any performance issues

Education:


  • Minimum, Level 3 in Education and Learning
  • Recognised assessor training
  • Recognised apprenticeship or similar in Aeronautical Engineering
  • Relevant type course training on one or more a/c platforms

Experience:


  • Extensive knowledge of the requirements of apprenticeship programmes both in terms of on programme learning and End Point Assessment
  • Experience within an MRO environment
  • Practical experience of aircraft maintenance
