- Proactively manage risk and maintain safety, conforming to health, safety and security legislation, policies, procedures and guidelines.

- GCSE minimum grade C in English and Maths or equivalent
- NVQ2 in pharmaceutical science or equivalent

- Experience of concentration for long time periods
- Knowledge of clean room design and functioning
- COSHH Regulations and Health & Safety at Work Act.

Job summary
We are delighted to be able to offer the position of Senior Pharmacy Assistant in the Aseptic role will routinely be within the Aseptic Unit clean rooms, supervising and checking the work of operators preparing Aseptic products. You will be working within a dedicated team whose primary role is to prepare medication in a timely fashion for our patients.
This is a non-patient facing role, but every piece of work that you do will help to ensure our patients receive excellent care.
Our Pharmacy Department hosts a well-established Pharmacy Manufacturing unit (PMU) for preparation of unlicensed medicines. We hold a MHRA specials license that allows us to produce a wide range of aseptic and classically manufactured products .
The core hours of duty of the team are between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm Monday to Friday, with the requirement to work 1 late from am to pm
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic and energetic senior pharmacy assistant to join our friendly team in the Aseptic unit. You will work as a member of the team supporting the production of a range of injectable medicines, Your main duties will be to work within the cleanrooms, where Pharmacy Isolators are used, to supervise the staff and processes being undertaken. Knowledge and experience of Aseptic preparation is essential
You will have excellent communication and leadership skills. You will also be able to concentrate for long periods of time whilst carrying out accurate, detailed work.
The post requires working some evenings and bank holidays.
