    Job summary

    Do you want to be part of a team that is influencing change and transforming the delivery of mental health services for people with personality difficulties?

    Personality and Complex Trauma Team (PACT) are continuing to grow and expand across the county of Lincolnshire. We are looking for enthusiastic qualified Dialectical Behaviour Therapists to join our DBT team within our multidisciplinary dedicated service.

    Main duties of the job

    The Post holder will work as a member of the Personality and Complex Trauma Team and will be responsible for triaging, assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of collaborative care plans and safety plans whilst using your own professional knowledge, skills, and your understanding of psychologically informed interventions.

    The Post holder will be an integral member of the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy Team. The post holder will also contribute to the delivery of specialist psychological therapies which form a part of the personality difficulties pathway.

    Hours will notionally be per week to be divided between 5 sessions; Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

    The Successful candidate will be expected to undergo necessary training to participate in SCM, design of service-user information materials, routine clinical audits and training, clinical and managerial supervision and reflective practice. This will liaise with a wide range of professionals.

    Job responsibilities

    Responsibilities will include but not limited to:-

    Manage caseload and service delivery in accordance with Service/Trust requirements, ensuring continuity of care.

    Successfully complete training and deliver all aspects of Structured Clinical Management that is adherent to the model & SCM competency framework.

    Provide high standard of clinical care that ensures safe and effective assessment, treatment and comprehensive discharge planning using highly developed clinical reasoning skills and appropriate assessment tools.

    Undertake risk assessment and risk management for relevant individual clients, along with providing advice to other professionals on this subject.

    Work with individuals to assess their mental health, recognise mental illness and identify their related needs and circumstances; and enable them to understand, manage and where appropriate change their behaviour.

    Enable individuals to develop independent living skills and live in the community.

    Work collaboratively with a wider range of professionals and agencies as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Ensuring effective and appropriate clinical decision making.

    To participate in Clinical Governance activities, including induction, supervision, personal development review, health and safety, risk management and audit.

    Maintain up to date, accurate and holistic clinical records to the highest standards.

    Protect people from abuse, neglect and harm.

    Support development of self and others and work within co-production environment to develop service delivery.

    Person Specification

    Qualifications

    Essential

  • A recorded/registered qualification in one of the following at graduate level in nursing, social work, occupational therapy, arts therapy or within a psychological therapy.
  • Trained in Dialectical Behavioural Therapy Intensive Training to post graduate diploma level
  • Would meet accreditation criteria for the Society For Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue this

  • DBT-Pe/TF-DBT
  • Other relevant psychological therapy training
  • Experience

    Essential

  • Significant experience of delivering individual DBT within a DBT team with weekly consultation
  • Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups, across the whole life course presenting problems that reflect the full range of clinical severity including maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the face of highly emotive and distressing problems.
  • Experience of exercising full clinical responsibility for client's psychological care and treatment, as a professional care co-ordinator and within the context of multidisciplinary teams.

  • Knowledge and skill in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment interventions
  • Knowledge and skill in the delivery of theory and practice of specialised psychological therapies
  • Knowledge and skill in the practice of a wide range of psychological interventions in the treatment of patients with a broad range of mental health problems, such as PTSD, OCD, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, within the context of a diagnosis of Personality Disorder.
  • Ability to transfer complex concepts to individual levels. Ability to transfer problem solving, communication and personal development skills to individual client needs and abilities.
  • Ability to develop excellent therapeutic relationship with service users.
  • Good interpersonal skills in working with interdisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to communicate, both verbally and in writing, highly clinical and sensitive information to service users, medical professionals, families, carers and other professionals within and outside the NHS Trust
  • Approachable/organised/self-motivated/flexible/reliable/a team player.
  • Able to work independently
