We are looking for a Principal Advisor to join our Growth & Ventures team.

This is a great opportunity for a proactive and collaborative support both our venture capital fund and our new incubation and commercial scale-up activities.

Reporting to the Head of Growth & Ventures and working in a collaborative and exciting environment, you will:

Challenge the status quo, think of new opportunities support our start-ups with a "founder first" approach
Support the leads across both our Growth team, including incubation and commercial scaleup opportunities, as well as Ventures in making new investments
Proactively create investment hypotheses for, scout and evaluate relevant opportunities from a variety of sources aligned to our strategy and focus areas
Support the lifecycle of investment processes from helping form the hypothesis, scouting, evaluation and execution
Support the incubation process from ideation to proof of concept, and thereafter ultimately to commercial scaleups
Manage and support financial modelling and write excellent (and brief) investment memos
Support managing the overall VC portfolio, including active management of exposure across maturity, theme, risk, cash flow and other considerations to optimise its risk adjusted return
Bring together and collaborate with Product Group, Functional and R&D stakeholders to leverage the capabilities and expertise relevant to each project
Contribute to a team culture of inclusiveness and foster collaboration, and be a relentless supporter of risktaking by "playing to win" vs. "playing not to lose"
Communicate complicated ideas in a simple way (verbal, written, slides) to a variety of internal and external stakeholders and senior leaders

What you'll bring

A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
Degree in a commercial or technical discipline
Strong strategic thinking, analytical, and problemsolving abilities
Outstanding communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills
A minimum of 510 years of professional experience, with a proven track record in R&D, startups, incubation, venture capital or similar
Strong understanding of valuing startups and venture capital investments, ideally in the context of heavy industry innovation
