ROLE MISSION


The Category Analytics Manager position will take ownership of our Retail Sales & Shopper Predictive Analytics offer and play a key role in accelerating a fast-growing business.

The role will report into the Global Operations Director and will work across Technology and Consulting offer areas to deliver first-class, actionable insights grounded in our clients' business questions.


This will be a client facing position that will require interfacing with multiple data sources including Scan/Point of Sale e.g.

Nielsen or IRi, shopper and attitudinal data to build relevant insights across range & assortment as well as Price/Pack architecture.


ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop predictive analytical models within our existing frameworks to address client business questions and feed these through our proprietary tools
  • Use the models & tools to deliver outstanding analytical advisory and client service including DB management, software testing, leading training sessions & running projects on behalf of clients
  • Collect, interpret, and analyse data using inhouse resources, third party providers, and/or custom research techniques

KEY OUTCOMES


You should be intellectually curious as well as an excellent communicator who can build strong client relationships and build engaging presentations.

This must be coupled with a keen attention to detail as well as the ability to work independently and lead projects.

You are able to synthesize and interpret data to inform strategic recommendations. You display strong problem-solving skills, in particular translating loosely defined problems into solutions.

Interest in the CPG/FMCG industry is strongly encouraging.


CAPABILITIES

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Interest in business, shopper marketing, consumer goods, and retail
  • Quantitative thinking with strong numeric and verbal reasoning skills
  • A high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets (Advanced would be advantageous)
  • Ability to distil & present impactful insight while dealing with large volumes of data
  • Backend technical skills will be an advantagee.g. SQL (Oracle or MS), Python, R
  • Strong communications skills to present complex analysis in a concise and effective manner
