Learning Support Assistant with Midday Assistant duties


Hours:
Learning Support Assistant - 25hrs a week/ Midday Assistant 5hours a week


Contract:
Fixed term until 31/08/2027 or for as long as SEND child attends as a pupil at St Thomas, term time


Salary:
Learning Support Assistant Scale 3 point 6 FTE £23,893 pro rata is £13,808 / Midday Assistant Scale 1 point 3 FTE £22,737, pro rata is £2,628

We are looking for a dedicated teaching assistant to join our successful team, supporting a child 1:1 in KS1 but is based in EYFS, as well as generic duties, including group work, assessment and admin.


The purpose of this post is to provide effective support for a child in KS1, but is taught in EYFS, as well as covering lunchtime duties.


Our Learning Support Assistant will have:

  • Experience or prior knowledge of supporting children with additional complex needs.
  • Experience delivering planned 1:1 interventions to support the progress and development of individual children.
  • Awareness of how to support children with language and communication needs.
  • Have prior experience and be knowledgeable on how to effectively support the development of a child.
  • Proactiveness and flexibility in their approach.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Experience of being a team player.
