Responsibilities:


  • Develop, plan, and implement a comprehensive and varied activities programme to push the boundaries of the typical activity programme.
  • Create and maintain a schedule of visiting entertainers, such as musicians, dancers, and performers, to provide our residents with regular entertainment.
  • Spend individual time with residents, care staff and relatives to create personalised activities that engage our residents and reflect their interest and hobbies.
  • Build relationships with residents and families to gather life story information and to use this detail to produce person centred care plans and activities.
  • Identify each residents needs whilst promoting independence and choice.
  • To assist in developing community links with local groups and organisations, to create meaningful connections and opportunities for our residents.
  • Organise and coordinate day trips and outings that are safe, enjoyable, and engaging for our residents.
  • Working with care colleagues and the management team to plan and organise fundraising events and activities for the benefit of our residents and local community.
  • Manage and maintain our social media channels, including Facebook and Instagram, by posting updates, photos, and videos of our events and activities.
  • Keep up to date with the latest trends, innovations, and technologies in activities and events programming for residents.
  • Create and design posters, flyers, and other promotional materials to advertise our events and activities.
  • To assist in producing a newsletter that will inform, and entertain our elderly residents, relatives, and staff.
  • To be in line with and follow CQC policies and procedures.

Requirements:


  • Relevant experience in activity coordination, event planning, and community engagement in a care home or healthcare setting is preferable but not essential.
  • Confident in delivering group and 1 to 1 activities.
  • Creativity, innovation, and ability to think outside of the box.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
  • A team player who engages well with others.
  • Flexible and adaptable to change, sense of humour and positive outlook.
  • A genuine interest in promoting independence and lifestyle opportunities for the elderly.
  • Passionate about offering superior services and want to make a difference.
  • IT proficient and familiarity with social media platforms and content creation.
  • Valid driver's license preferable, but not essential.
