We are recruiting for a Payroll Team Leader to manage the payroll team based in the Newton Aycliffe office.

Position:

This role is to manage the day to day customer service delivery of Payroll for our customers.

Ensuring that the payroll provision continually strives to work and deliver to the agreed standards and timescales set out by the business.

Continually seeking continuous improvement to the service provided and adhering to HR and payroll policies and processes.


It's important that you can proactively manage, lead by example, motivate and coach teams, have strong attention to detail and are focused on continuous improvement for the company.

Responsibilities:
  • Delivering a small allocation of monthly payroll allocations as well as mentoring and managing your own team of payroll administrator
  • Coach and support the team to ensure they are as efficient as possible and continue to raise the quality of the service delivered to clients.
  • Ensure team members are supported and developed with appropriate coaching and training in order to deliver best practice processes
  • Identifying and implementing new ways of working, as well as improving processes to maximise on valueadded service
  • Undertake performance management, probation and appraisal reviews to ensure that levels of performance remain consistently high within your team
  • Undertake regular team meetings and onetoone meetings as required to ensure there is a flow of communication throughout the department.

Requirements:


  • Previous experience managing a team
  • Experience of processing complex payrolls, endtoend, with an expert understanding of UK payroll legislation and best practice
  • Ability to coach and mentor team members
  • Strong communication skills and have a passion for delivering customer excellence
