BES Asset Reliability part of the BES Group are hiring a Lead Reliability Consultant to lead the technical team of Condition Based Maintenance and Reliability Specialists. We are an independent provider of reliability and condition-based maintenance solutions, consultancy and training services and work closely with our customers to help them improve productivity and prolong the life of critical machinery, our aim is to become the standout maintenance and reliability service provider in the UK.


You will act as Lead Technical Authority for processes and delivery of Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) programs to customers across multiple industry sectors, including delivery of CBM and Reliability program consultancy, Building and developing customer relationships will form a key part of your day-to-day role, as well as design and project management.

Positively contributing to the delivery of CBM and Reliability programmes supporting profitable growth, rate, retention, training, and additional services.

To be considered for this role you will ideally live within the South Yorkshire or East Midland regions.


What will I be doing?
Typically, the job will involve interacting with customers across our global client portfolio alongside leading the technical teams.

Some of your other responsibilities will include:

  • Jointly ensure, with Heads of Operations, that all operations comply with legal requirements and industry(s) best practice
  • Provide technical support to Sales and Operations teams throughout BES Asset Reliability Division to ensure suitable solutions are sold and implemented
  • Participate in the company's tendering activities and support the Sales Team in development of proposals of engineering solutions
  • Provide input to Software Development and support software product development roadmap and hardware R&D teams
  • Ability to competently deliver technical CBM / reliability training to customers
  • Willingness to travel globally to customers to provide solution contractual support and delivery training
  • Develop customer acceptance and user acceptance plans to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Be the technical authority and the trusted advisor to customers to assist and guide them on maintenance strategy

What experience do I need?


Our Technical team consists of the best, highly skilled Engineers and we want our new recruits to have the same attitude, aptitude and appetite for what we do.


  • A clear communicator with a cando attitude who has the drive, commitment and passion to continuously improve the quality of service
  • Technically savvy and able to proficiently use the Microsoft Office suite
  • Relevant Engineering qualification, VAT Cat
  • IRT Cat 1 minimum
  • Reliability management and consultancy experience
  • Ability to deliver and manage FMECA, RCM and FDP projects
  • Extensive experience in asset reliability and general engineering maintenance including CBM
  • Industry sector knowledge (could be land, maritime, offshore)
  • Knowledge of Emerson hardware and software including high level installation and troubleshooting knowledge
  • Experience of working within technical working groups and committees
  • Member of Industry Body i.e. BINDT, IMechE, IMarEST
  • The ability to analyse data and produce thorough customer reports
  • Being able to identify and pursue upsell and crosssell opportunities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high attention to detail
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to identify acceptable solutions to business problems
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Ability to respond to rapidly changing business priorities
