This role will give you the chance to play a key role on ground-breaking and high-profile defence projects with values in the hundreds of millions.
As our Detail Fitter, you will be manufacturing sheet metal fabricated components and sub-assemblies to engineering data and in accordance with internal and external OEM quality requirements.
- Assembly experience essential, preferably in Aerospace
- Bench work subassemblies, working with small to medium sized precision components.
- Assembly of components using specialised fasteners, blind and solid rivets, hilocks, anchor nuts etc
- Manual drilling, reaming & countersinking using handheld and air powered tools.
- Bonding/sealing using aerospace sealants and adhesives.
- Torque tightened bolts and nuts.
- Electrical Bonding and checks
- Assemble of prototype components in conjunction with the Manufacturing Engineers
- Use of jigs and fixture
- Fabrication of sheet metal components i.e., folding, hand forming, shrinking/stretching would be an advantage but training can be provided.
- Work to Marshall & OEM engineering data and in some instances 3D models
- Working to a schedule of work to meet ontime delivery and to the required quality requirements.
- Comply with all quality and HSE policies and procedures.
