East Cheshire NHS trust are opening a purpose-built Community Diagnostic centre at the Congleton War Memorial Hospital site. We are developing and expanding our Cardio-respiratory department to support a wide range of diagnostic services.You will work on rotation at both the Congleton and Macclesfield sites to ensure you maintain competency in all areas and gain exposure to specialist testing, MDT and review sessions.
You will have the opportunity to develop your existing skills and be supported and encouraged to undertake further training and education.
You will take an active role in the training and support of medical colleagues and junior staff including those undertaking the ETP programme.
You will need previous experience at band 6 level, a BSc in Clinical Physiology or equivalent, voluntary registration with the RCCP/AHCS and BSE Accreditation.
***Maintain BSE accreditation and perform high quality diagnostic tests to recognised BSE standards and produce highly complex reports which directly impact on patient careSupport the delivery of specialist echo services including Transeosophageal and stress echocardiography.
Work collaboratively and co-operatively with the Principal Physiologist and senior team to support service provision
To undertake Transthoracic echocardiograms and produce high quality reports in line with British Society of echocardiography guidelines.
Support training and development of physiology and medical staff.
Actively participate in the ETP student education and development programme, providing practical and theoretical training as required.

BSc clinical PhysiologyBritish Society of Echocardiography
Evidence of ongoing professional development
Society for Cardiological Science and Technology (SCST) accreditation
European Computer Driving Licence (ECDL)
Significant post qualification experience with specialist theoretical knowledge and clinical practice within Cardiac devices and arrhythmias
Ability to undertake complex diagnostic tests independently specifically within Echocardiography
Ability to analyse and interpret complex data producing accurate reports
Experience of appraisal and delivering education/mentorship to trainees
Understands the broader role of Cardio-Respiratory Physiology within the NHS
Knowledge of local and national policy
High level of hands on skill in echocardiography
Demonstrable skills in a broad range of cardiac diagnostics
IT user skills in clinical data manipulation
Flexible adaptable style working
Motivation to develop modern, quality services
Ability to develop/sustain appropriate professional relationships/networks to influence care systems
