Permanent, Full time, 37 hours per week.


Start Date:
April 2024.


Vacancy location:
Oaks Lane Depot, Rotherham & Bailey House, Rotherham, and other neighbouring depots as and when required.


An opportunity has arisen to work within RMBC Street services, based at Oaks Lane Depot, Kimberworth Rotherham employed as Street Services Cleansing Operatives.

You will need to have relevant experience of carrying out environmental cleansing work. Experience of utilising specialist environmental cleansing equipment would be advantageous.


Your main responsibilities will include assisting with the collection of fly tipped waste, litter picking, emptying of street litter and dog bins, weed grubbing and keeping district areas clean and tidy.

Additional responsibilities may include grit salting by hand, removal of drug litter and hazardous waste and removal of fly tipping.


Applicants must be able to complete daily and weekly record sheets, have a good understanding of Health and Safety and environmental issues related to the position applied for.

You will also be required on occasions, to give general assistance to members of the public on relevant street cleansing issues.


You must be flexible, committed and have a willingness to undertake mandatory training specific to Rotherham Council Employees and the job role.
