Children's Highly Specialist Community Dietitian - Band 7

£49,178 - £55,492 Inc HCAS per annum pro rata

Part-Time 18.75 hrs per week

Do you want to further your children's Dietetics experience within a community setting?

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Paediatric Dietitian to help deliver the Bromley Children's Home Enteral service.


This role is to work alongside the current band 7 Highly Specialist Children's Community Dietitian to jointly manage babies and children who require home enteral feeding.


You will be part of a small team of Paediatric Dietitians and a Dietetic Assistant, working closely with community children's nurses, special school nurses, health visitors, paediatricians, speech and language therapists, hospital dietitians and other professionals to deliver this specialist service which is highly valued by patients, their families and professionals.


You will be an expert resource for the Children's Dietetic Service and Bromley Healthcare and encouraged to actively participate in audit and service development.

The band 7 Children's Community Dietitian is jointly responsible for delivering and developing the Children's Home Enteral Feeding Service in Bromley.

The post holder is the joint clinical lead for the Children's Home Enteral Feeding Service and is expected to provide a high-quality service to children referred to this specialist service and their parents or carers.


The post holder is responsible for providing highly specialist dietetic advice and support to a complex caseload of enterally fed infants, children, young people and their parents/carers in a range of settings including patients' homes, special need schools, respite care and clinics.


The post holder will work closely with other health professionals in the multidisciplinary team, and professionals from other agencies in the borough, to assess, treat and safeguard children in their care.


The post holder is responsible for their own area of specialism and expertise, and acts as an expert specialist resource within the Children's Dietetic Service.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to service development, evidence-based policy, guidelines and procedure development, and undertake regular audit projects.

They may also be required to provide education and training for other health professionals and staff from other agencies.

Salary is dependant on NHS experience and current banding/pay point.
