An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced
Solicitor to join an international, award-winning law firm as a
Senior Construction Associate, becoming part of one of largest construction and engineering teams in the North, where you will join their dedicated team based in
Leeds.
The team are recognised experts in both contentious and non-contentious matters, serving an international clientele comprising developers, funders, consultants, contractors, and subcontractors based in the UK and Europe.
This extensive expertise allows for a diverse range of work across multiple jurisdictions, encompassing projects and disputes, including international arbitrations.
Responsibilities:
- Manage own contentious and noncontentious work for employers, contractors, construction professionals, and funders.
- Handle dispute resolution via litigation, arbitration, adjudication, mediation, and negotiation.
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, and instruct experts.
- Directly liaise with clients to develop relationships.
- Review and report on various construction and engineering contracts.
- Draft and negotiate building contracts.
- Conduct due diligence on construction contracts.
- Prepare professional appointments, and warranties, and ensure completion.
- Create performance bonds and parent company guarantees.
- Prepare reports and conduct due diligence.
- Draft advisory/instructional letters to clients/experts.
- Prepare legal documents for proceedings, including claims and witness statements
Requirements:
Essential:
- Previous construction experience
- Strong organizational skills
- Demonstrates strong understanding of clients, colleagues, and others
- Adheres to guidelines and procedures
- Effective communication with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
- Adjudication experience
- Experience in the oil and gas sectorand or renewables sector

Salary:
- £40,000 - £100,000 - depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 09:00 17: hours per week)
