The Maintenance Planner will be required to develop and maintain the current planned maintenance system on site to insure plant remains reliable and ready to use.

You will have the ability to analyse trends and information on job cards to predict potential breakdowns and plan for critically spares to be available and lead maintenance planner meetings with Maintenance and Operations to ensure tasks are completed on time in full.


The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to

  • Supporting the Maintenance Department with maintenance plans and forecasting
  • Produce and track all maintenance tasks for site and provide uptodate reports to department and wider business.
  • Review and report on departmental maintenance KPI's and publish to relevant stakeholders.
  • To liaise between all service areas to establish priorities and control of programme changes
  • Provide full support to the Database activities relating to the maintenance element of the computerised system. Carrying out activities related to the adding and control of item masters and the inventory and ordering parameters within the Item Balance file.
  • Creation of Bills of Materials ensuring that all elements of configuration and costings are accurate.
  • Provide assistance in the development of the computerised manufacturing systems and business processes related to the maintenance and inventory control procedures.
  • Ensure any Electrical and Mechanical breakdowns are captured onto the system and root cause analysis conducted on the asset to obtain reason for failure. With improvements to the maintenance task if required.

Person Specification

  • Time Served Apprenticeship (ONC, NVQ or equivalent) would be desirable in either an electrical or mechanical bias
  • Maintenance planning knowledge using MRP systems
  • Working knowledge within an automated process environment would be advantageous
  • Good experience of CMMS
  • Proven working experience in scheduling and capacity planning


This role will be worked over a 4.5 day week; Monday to Thursday 08:00 - 16:45 and Friday 08:00 - 12:30.

Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team.
