The role:


We are currently recruiting a
Recruitment Officer to join us on a permanent basis in the HR Department as the team grows.


Main Purpose and Scope of Job:

To work in partnership with managers and the wider HR Team to deliver a pragmatic, compliant, trusted internal resourcing service to the Business.

To provide HR advice and coaching to CCM line managers on recruitment and onboarding.

Work with line managers and external partners to drive DE&I, a positive recruitment experience and to positively raise the profile of Chemring brand.


The responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:

  • Identify and implement attraction methods which increase equity and diversity of applicants.
  • Regularly update noticeboards and careers pages
  • LinkedIn, Facebook, Chemring Group website with vacancies.
  • Assist in the development of assessment centres or events for Early Careers (graduate and apprentices) as well as other roles.
  • Maintain regular communication with key recruitment agencies and suppliers on live vacancies and pipeline. Support HRBP with annual review of the PSL.
  • Organise, attend and support Careers Fayres and other recruitment initiatives or events.
  • Assist in the development of an internal and external pipeline of talent to support succession planning.
  • In partnership with L&D and hiring managers, maintain regular contact with new hires to ensure they have a positive onboarding experience.
  • To perform other duties, commensurate with the position, that may be required from time to time.

Qualifications & Certification Required

  • CIPD level 3 preferable unless proven experience in role Associate level CIPD
  • Recruitment & Employment Confederation (REC) membership
  • Works in line with REC Code of Professional Practice
  • Permitted to work in the UK

Info about the role:

This role will be worked over a 37.5 hour working week; typically Monday to Friday.

With flexible working available, this will require you to be in the office a minimum of 3 days a week.

Flexibility in this role is critical to the success of supporting the team.
