    Job summary

    Sirona care and health has an exciting opportunity for an appropriately qualified and experienced individual to join the Quality and Safety team as a Quality Improvement practitioner .

    The Quality and Safety team functions are pivotal to ensuring a high level of strategic oversight, recognition and understanding of quality and safety issues and priorities which will enable the whole organisation to provide excellent care. Having an integrated, clinically focused quality, safety and governance resource, processes and systems will enable effective interfaces between the team, operational staff and other corporate functions

    Main duties of the job

    As a Quality Improvement practitioner, your primary purpose with be to support the Head of Quality Improvement and the Lead for Quality improvement in the delivery of the quality priorities, primarily pressure injury reduction, management of patients with a lower limb wound, and supporting the management of patients with a urinary catheter, by working in close partnership with the localities, clinical teams and safeguarding.

    You will not carry a clinical caseload but will work with clinical staff to reduce the numbers of acquired pressure injuries, and the delivery of positive outcomes of other quality priories and CQUINs.

    You will provide advice and support on programmes of work relating to all aspects of the quality priorities and quality improvement across the company to strengthen the quality and safety culture.

    You will support with the delivery of Sirona's clinical programme and contribute to the content of the annual Quality account.

    You will support the management and development of clinical policies and SOPs within own sphere of knowledge.

    You will support the management and implementation of NICE guidance and support clinical staff with Quality Improvement projects.

    Qualifications and Training Required

    Essential

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent experience with NMC or HCPC registration.
  • Evidence of continuing Professional development
  • A recognised Assessor/ mentor qualification
  • Knowledge of GDPR and confidentiality
  • Understanding of teamwork and what makes a teamwork well
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with various clinical practitioners across Sirona services.
  • Clinical skills including wound care, pressure injury prevention, management of patients with a lower limb injury.
  • Desirable

  • Teaching qualification
  • Recent experience working in a Community integrated network team.
  • Skills, Experience and Knowledge Required

    Essential

  • Previous experience within a clinical role as a Band 5 or above, coupled with training/development experience
  • Excellent organisational skills and planning,
  • Some knowledge in quality improvement methodologies,
  • Experience of recent direct patient/client care in a health setting.
  • Experience of team working and working autonomously as a clinical practitioner
  • Experience of supporting clinical staff to gain clinical skills, experience and competencies
  • Ability to naturally build and maintain excellent relationships and establish trust and rapport with clinical teams.
  • Ability to engender confidence in others.
  • Excellent influencing and facilitation skills
  • To be able to demonstrate innovation, collaboration and sharing of ideas with other clinical staff, to turn ideas into reality.
  • A strong team working ethos with experience of building and maintaining close working relationships with peers/colleagues whilst operating across a large geographical area
  • High levels of personal organisation, drive, determination and resilience.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstration of the Sirona values and behaviours
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to drive engagement and two-way communication
  • Good levels of IT literacy including knowledge and use of EMIS and Ulysses systems.
  • Experience of helping to develop others and identifying ways to continually improve services.

  • Knowledge and understanding of the legislation that applies to quality and safety work
  • Understanding of information governance requirements in a care/organisational setting.
