Permanent, Full Time, 37 Hours Per Week

We are seeking to appoint a permanent Senior Homelessness Prevention and Resettlement Officer.

The main duties of the post are:

To provide supervision and support to the Homelessness Team including all homelessness prevention activity and assist in developing and delivering options to prevent homelessness.


Key Duties/Areas of Responsibility:


You will manage a caseload to prevent homelessness wherever possible, developing and keeping under review personalised Housing Plans as required by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 to ensure they remain relevant, motivating clients to be proactive in sustaining or seeking accommodation.


You will work to comply with our prevention and relief duties, issuing decision notifications, undertaking full homelessness investigation, determining the duty owed issuing decision letters in compliance with the Council's duties under the Housing Act 1996 as amended, Homelessness Reduction Act, Codes of Guidance and caselaw.

You will undertake Homelessness Reviews

You will ensure performance targets and statutory duties are both met and accurately reported.

As a Senior Homelessness Officer, you will provide motivational skills, leadership, guidance and support to the wider Homelessness Team

Prepare and present cases to Housing Assessment Panel

You will contribute to the strategic co-ordination of homeless functions, liaising and engaging with statutory and voluntary services operating in the borough


You will be a strong leader; you will use your skills to build and develop great relationships across a variety of stakeholders and encourage this approach across the wider Homelessness team.

Respond to and support, work arising out of surgeries and/or other initiatives of Elected Members.

Represent/attend meetings on behalf of the Homelessness Coordinator and Manager
