Our SBU in Manchester is looking to grow its team due to continued growth within the market.


About the Role
The role will involve direct management of operations and production. It will involve the day-to-day management of a small team of around 4 operatives.


As the team leader, you will be responsible for managing a small team of operators to meet specific production goals set by the management team.

The site is a waste management site and so due to the nature of our work a key objective of this role is to continually improve house keeping and organisation.


  • Work to the daily production target, resolve any issues that may be impacting this.
  • Ensure operatives work to the breaks and get them restarted after break/dinner and manage their work rate.
  • Health and Safety is a priority for the Mauser Group. We must use the resources given to try to improve the way we complete tasks to always reduce the risk. Your role will be enforcing current SOPS and also make improvements when possible.
  • Full training of all staff when they start their career & ongoing training for all other staff.
  • Continually find solutions to problems including poor production numbers.
  • Ensure that the line feed is always full and correct in line with the deliveries going out.
  • Communicate with office regarding customer orders.
  • Follow our Quality Management Process and highlight any issues to management.
  • Continually promoting teamwork throughout the workplace.
  • Ensure PPE is being worn by all operatives.
  • Ensure that all operatives are carrying out their job function in line with their job description.
  • Manage PPE, consumables, tools booking out systems.
  • Management of all overtime request.
  • Ensure QPS manual is fulfilled by operatives.
  • Be involved with both customer and internal audits.
  • Work the line to cover holidays or sickness leave.
  • Carry out HR reviews and disciplinaries when necessary.
  • Ensure Machinery is maintained, and any break downs are logged and dealt with.

  • IT skills would be beneficial but not essential.

Essential:


  • Previous production experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Must be able to work additional hours when needed. 6am starts and weekend work.
  • Normal Working hours are Monday to Friday.

Salary:

£12.00-£12.50 per hour


Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability

Supplemental pay types:

  • Bonus scheme
  • Performance bonus

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • MANCHESTER: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
