Description

Infrastructure Engineer
The Pharmaxo Group operates within the pharmaceutical aseptic compounding, clinical homecare and laboratory services sectors.

Bath ASU (part of the Pharmaxo Group) produces over 2,000 aseptically compounded injectable pharmaceutical products each day for hospitals and patients across the UK who are fighting cancer, living with chronic disease or in need of pain relief.

Your role

  • Manage the IT infrastructure, ensuring all systems are adequately patched and updated as required
  • Read and implement all IT policies published by the IT Manager
  • Proactively monitor infrastructure performance levels, taking remedial action prior to problem development
  • Ensure adequate protection and management of data is maintained, manage system and data backups for the enterprise
  • Monitor, maintain and troubleshoot IT systems, including desktop computing, telephony, servers, storage, and networking
  • Under the direction of the Infrastructure Lead, deliver technologybased project work and infrastructure design, to quality and ontime
  • Act as SME (Subject Matter Expert) for a designated set of technologies including networking and infrastructure, maintaining specialist knowledge of design, operation, and troubleshooting
  • Provide inhouse IT training to other members of the IT team as required
  • Participate in out of hours troubleshooting and resolution of major incidents
  • Take part in disaster recovery planning
  • Join existing IT team in On Call rotation for Out of Hours support.
  • Act as an escalation point for the support staff, providing a fault resolution as required, liaise with external support providers in the resolution of faults as required
  • Commitment to participate in any extended hours or Bank Holidays rotas to perform planned tasks
  • Undertake any other related duties as required by senior IT staff and the IT Manager
  • Establish good working relationships with customers, suppliers and other professionals

  • You will manage, update and support the IT infrastructure
  • You will maintain documentation pertaining to the IT infrastructure
  • You will provide an escalation point to IT services
  • You will deliver IT work packages as part of wider project work
