    Digital Content Assistant

    £30,497 p/a + benefits

    We have an excellent opportunity for a Digital Content Assistant to work within the Communications Division at the Commonwealth Secretariat. The Communications Division (COM) is responsible for providing information and raising awareness of Commonwealth values, programmes and events. This includes press and media relations, publications, publicity and public relations and website management. The Secretariat's website and social media platforms are essential components of the Commonwealth's visibility and communications strategy.

    We are seeking a highly motivated Digital Content Assistant with a keen eye for detail and a passion for visual storytelling. In this role, you will be responsible for producing engaging multimedia content and helping to maintain an active presence across our digital platforms. A primary focus of the role is to produce content for, and drive traffic to, the Commonwealth Secretariat website and social media channels to showcase the role and work of the Secretariat to diverse audiences.

    The role will involve planning and producing high-quality video and photography, curating and managing multimedia content, assisting in running the Secretariat's social media accounts, uploading, editing and publishing content onto the Secretariat's website, and suggesting ways of promoting the work of the Secretariat across digital channels.

    To be considered for this opportunity you will need a bachelor's degree or equivalent in broadcast journalism or digital/media/video production, PR and/or marketing from a professionally accredited course or equivalent professional experience. We are looking for 2-3 years demonstrable experience within a similar role, proven experience in using Adobe Premiere Pro for video production, editing and post-production, and sound technical knowledge of camera equipment and ability to operate DSLRs to film and produce broadcast-quality results. You will need experience of using design software such as Adobe Creative Suite and Canva to edit and create content, and experience of using content management systems to upload digital content, especially Drupal and WordPress. You will need strong communication and organisational skills, and creativity and initiative to craft a compelling narrative.
