Description
We require a caring, compassionate, friendly and highly motivated Housekeeper to join our team on Acute floor CRH.

You will possess excellent communication skills, work well as part of a team and have the ability to work in a busy and challenging environment whilst using your own initiative.


Acute floor is a medical admission unit, caring for a wide range of conditions acute/chronic including patients who may be living with Dementia or have an acute delirium therefore kindness, compassion, empathy and patience is essential.

To clear crockery, etc used outside routine clearing periods.

To tidy/clean sluice and linen storage areas as required.

To tidy and clean other areas on the ward on a daily or weekly as planned/scheduled.


To assist with meals, support patients, staff and relatives as required as the ward has a protected meal times policy.

To support with hydration and nutrition rounds

Cleaning of all equipment on the ward.

Ordering of stock/supplies and storage

To create and maintain effective working relationships with other members of staff.

To answer the telephone in a professional manner.


To follow Health and Safety policies relevant to working environment and attend mandatory updates in accordance with Trust policy eg fire procedure and food hygiene.

To adhere to Trust policies and procedures.

To highlight potential hazards to the Nurse in Charge

To handle appropriate equipment safely, following training/instruction.

To decontaminate equipment according to infection control policies.

To report faulty equipment to the Estates Department.

To work under the direction of the Nurse in Charge with any duties, support requested.

Acute floor is an assessment ward looking after patients who are acutely unwell.

Participate in regular supervision.

Attend all mandatory training.

Participate annually identifying, developing and agreeing your own development plan with your Line Manager using the Trust Appraisal.

Comply with all Trust policies, procedures and protocols.

Carry out duties with due regard to the Trust's Equal Opportunity Policy.

Seek advice and support from Line Manager whenever necessary.

Maintain professional conduct including appearance at all times.

Ensure maintenance of Professional Registration.
