An opportunity to join a long established and prestigious charity based in County Durham as their Finance Manager to lead the day to day accounting in a hands-on role reporting to the Chief Operating Officer.


As first point of contact for finance you will assist in the organisation and provision of general finance support to senior leaders and budget holders.

You will be responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts, cashflow, cash management,annual financial statements, payroll, fee income, debtor control and management of a small team.


The preparation of budgets and subsequent management of these, providing expenditure reports to budget holders and analysing expenditure data are important aspects of the financial management.


We are seeking a professional with a minimum of AAT Level 4 or equivalent with previous experience in accounting, preferably with some charity experience.

You must have strong ICT and data analysis skills, including experience of working with databases.


Customer service is as the forefront for my client, so demonstrating strong communication skills is essential as you will be required to develop positive working relationships with both internal and external customers.

You must naturally enjoy communicatingand be able to provide excellent customer service.

You must be well organised and efficient with the ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

My client is looking for someone with a positive mindset and a desire to work in a charity that holdsstrong values.

We would also like an individual with a good sense of humour.


This opportunity would suit an Accountant either from the charity sector or public practice where a strong emphasis upon customer service is placed.
