- Safety will comprise a key element of the role, you might also be required to conduct risk assessments and health and safety inspections and to demonstrate leadership in safety.
- The role will include being appointed 8.1d under the Quarry's Regulations to take charge of health and safety on site whilst the Manager/Assistant are not on site.
- An important element of the role will involve administrative duties, from writing reports and updating records to reviewing and updating electronic defect database.
- An ability to plan and organise work in a time efficient fashion is critical.
- The ideal candidate will have background in the extractive industry, be familiar with the extractive process with a strong focus on safety and interpersonal skills. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Mobile/Static plant operation – a Red/Blue card in wheeled loading shovel operation, and experience of operating mobile and/or static screening plant
- Problem Analysis - Ability in pro-actively identifying problems, seeking pertinent data, recognising important information, and identifying possible causes of problems
- Compliance - Adherence to company policy and/or procedures. Seeks approval from the correct authority for changes.
- Interpersonal Skills - Awareness of other people and environment and own impact on these. Actions indicate a consideration for the feelings and needs of others
- Detail Handling - Tolerance for and ability to handle the details and paperwork associated with the job.
