Role Summary:
To develop and deliver programmes of study, in line with Ofqual recognition criteria, that will stretch and challenge all learners.
Using a learner-centered approach, provide formative and summative assessment and feedback to develop students, enabling them to move on to their chosen career path.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lecturer Duties
- Delivering group lecturers to students
- Delivering small group teaching from 120 students
- Teaching Practical Skills to Level 36 Apprentices
- Course design, delivery and assessment in line with Ofqual recognition criterion.
- Assess and grade work such as essay, exams, case studies and presentations.
- Provide both formative and summative structured feedback to students.
- Support students before, during and after their time with BioGrad Education.
- Keeping student records of achievement.
- Writing UCAS references
- Contribute to policy writing and updating
- Liaising with external examiners and stakeholders
- Provide training to personnel as and when required
- Adhere to policies and procedures in accordance with company standards
- Undertaking clerical duties
- Attend schools to give career talks.
- Attend weekly meetings.
- Mentor apprentices
Health and Safety
Actions
To ensure all Health and Safety Policies are adhered to keep staff and students
safe.
Ensure that equipment and work/teaching areas are routinely cleaned and equipment
maintained.
Work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety guidelines,
ISO standards and COSSH guidelines.
Understand and perform procedures for spillage of chemical and biological material,
and the fire alarm procedure.
Maintain stock levels of all PPE and equipment
Responsible for the health and safety of students in the laboratories making sure
student are not left alone in the laboratory areas.
Qualifications, Training & Knowledge
A good relevant honours degree, 2:1 or above, in a Science/clinical/medical related
MSc or PhD in relevant field.

Teaching qualification (PGCE or QTS).

Ability to support the diverse personal and academic needs of individual students.

Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, combined with excellent
interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise with students, colleagues and stakeholders.

session delivery and feedback.
