Job Summary


This is a role within the National Performance Team (NPT) focusing on providing expert performance analysis and insight to influence operational planning and decision-making around all aspects of performance.

NPT oversee the contractual performance of thebusiness, providing expert advice to Operations, supporting them in achieving our goal to help as many customers as possible move forward with their lives.

We liaise closely and confidently with our client DWP, providing assurance and in depth knowledge around our operational performance.

You will report into a Regional Performance Manager, a Senior Leadership role within the National Performance Team. Within the role, you will;

  • Lead on improving ways of working by analysing and optimising our performance metrics, turning data into insights that drive actionbased decision making as well as identifying risks and opportunities
  • Collaborate with individuals of all levels from Operational and Central Support teams to improve our customer's journey
  • Work with a range of tools to carry out statistical analysis, integrating a broad range of complex data sets from customer service, quality, volume and people related aspects.
  • Gather requirements to solve problems, looking for patterns in data, delivering results to operational teams and recommending strategies that deliver continuous improvement
  • Communicate these findings and recommendations to a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and within DWP, explaining complex analysis results in a way that can be understood by all
  • Be a rounded team player who is an excellent communicator, quick learner and selfmotivated with an ability to think critically and display intellectual curiosity
  • Value the integrity of your work, sanity check analyses before drawing conclusions, and take pride in telling stories with data.


The insight you provide will be used to enhance decision making, both at operational and senior levels with the overall aim of helping our customers move forwards with their lives.


Essential Job Duties

  • Participate in all the aspects of the data analysis process: from gathering user requirements and looking for patterns in data to delivering results to operational teams and recommending strategies that deliver continuous improvement
  • Turning indepth analysis into operational insights that do more than simply present data, telling a story that supports continuous improvement across all aspects of performance
  • Work with a broad range of interdependent metrics with multiple complex and large data sets, understanding the correlation between these, maintaining a holistic view of any potential impact
  • Collaborate with all levels of the business in understanding data, it's purpose and how it can be used to drive better strategic decision making
  • Produce adhoc Reporting and answer data requests from stakeholders, gathering and understanding the true requirements to provide qualitative evidence that supports quantitative results
  • Identify reporting gaps, ensuring that our reporting output is impactful, appropriate and aligns to key strategic priorities
  • Provide specialist analytical and statistical advice to colleagues within the team across the business, utilising appropriate statistical and analytical methodologies to draw conclusions, presenting these complex analyses to a range of audiences in a mannerthat can be understood
  • Evaluating initiatives or preparing evidencebased business cases that robustly support initiatives and justify their initiation and/or continuation in terms of benefits, costs and risks, summarising progress reports for senior stakeholders
  • Role model a collaborative and influencing style of working, encouraging others to adopt a strategy that drives robust decision making and delivers the best outcomes
  • Manage tight deadlines and quickly iterate analyses to answer unstructured business questions, deliver actionable learnings, and make strategic recommendations
  • Grow and maintain impactful relationships with stakeholders of both technical and non technical backgrounds with clear and frequent communication.

Education and Experience Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

  • Experience in performance or analytical roles, focused on supporting customers
  • Very strong expertise with MS Excel
  • Experience using data visualisation techniques and tools such as QlikView or Power BI
  • Experience working with large interdependent datasets
  • Degree in a relevant course (Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Analytics, etc.) or equivalent experience
  • Experience of creating reports for senior stakeholders, empowering datadriven decision making
  • Experience of working with stakeholders at various levels
  • Knowledge of and experience with statistical modelling techniques.
