Canadian Principal to join their International School Group in
June 2023


Ranked as one of
Malaysia's top International School Groups, this organization has 3 campuses that focus on teaching the Ontario, Canada curriculum, and caters to all age groups; from
Pre-K to Secondary and includes a College Matriculation Program.

This role provides an opportunity to join the leadership group in a well respected and growing educational institution.

We are seeking a qualified
Ontario Secondary Principal with both Ontario and International School experience.


International Educators who's first language is English and who have
professional teaching qualifications, Ontario Principal qualifications (PQ1 and PQ2) and experience leading an international school are invited to apply.

Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Provide educational leadership and overall responsibility for implementation of strategic plans for the quality delivery and administration of the international school curriculum.
  • Ensure overall effectiveness in programme management and administration, and compliance of the curricula offered to the regulatory requirements of the Ontario Ministry of Education, Malaysian Ministry of Education (MOE), and International Baccalaureate Organization.
  • Conduct curriculum reviews, class observations and professional development for teachers to ensure that courses offered are current and relevant to the needs of the students and that classes are conducted in timely and appropriate manner, and take on teaching assignment/s where necessary.
  • Work with teachers, deputies, coordinators and other administrative staff on programme delivery and administration matters, and implement quality assurance and continuous improvement measures according to the requirements of the Education Group, the School and/or external authorities.
  • Manage the work performance of academic and administrative staff, and work in collaboration with the Human Resource Department on staff employment matters, manpower planning, staff selection and retention, performance evaluation, work conduct, discipline and termination matters.
  • Perform liaison and communication duties, serving as a key representative of the institution and the programme to all stakeholders, including parent groups, media and the larger community, and participate in student recruitment activities and promotions as necessary.

Requirements/ Criteria:


  • Has experience as Secondary School Principal; those with OCT experience will be considered.
  • Has experience being Principal of private and/or international schools
  • Holds Canadian principal qualifications
  • PQP 1 2 qualifications
  • IB and / or IGCSE experience is an asset

Reporting Line:


  • The Principal will be reporting to the group's Executive Director for his/ her performance of duties.

Terms, Conditions and Benefits:


  • Salary: to be discussed during the interview

Housing Allowance:
to be discussed during the interview as to whether accommodation or housing allowance will be provided based on demand and supply

  • Company Car: will be provided, further details to be discussed during the interview
  • Leave passage: Annual travel allowance of RM8,000 for Principal + RM8,000 for spouse; travel allowance is paid only after completion of at least one year's service with Sunway Education Group

Excess Baggage:
Up to RM10,000 per trip (upon first arrival final departure) for Principal, spouse, and family; reimbursements according to receipts
Annual Leave: 30 days per year
Medical Leave: 14 days per year
