    Description

    Overview:

    JAB Recruitment is working with our Renewables client, located in Bridge of Don (Aberdeen), to source a Mechanical Engineer.

    This is a contract position which will last for 3-months from July 2024.

    As a mechanical engineer, you will contribute to all stages of project work from concept to delivery.

    The successful candidate will be involved in the engineering, design, manufacturing, testing and assembly of our client's novel subsea technology.

    Interpret client, stakeholder, and project requirements.

    Review / approve 2D and 3D drawings, spanning process and instrumentation diagrams, conceptual layouts, general assemblies, detail, and fabrication drawings.

    Create engineering documentation including technical specifications, test procedures, part specifications, bill of materials etc.
    water depth pressure, fastener torque, static / dynamic loading, seabed stability analysis and thermal management).
    Engaging with a multi-discipline team including commercial, operations, electrical and electronic, software and systems expertise.
    Ensure project quality requirements are specified and followed.
    Company witness for critical testing and assembly phases.
    Engaging with the end client, vendor, and external parties to ensure that project requirements are met.
    Meeting the project schedule and identifying issues and support requirements early.
    Attend regular project and department meetings.
    Integrate electrical and mechanical components to design a seamless, effective system.

    A mechanical engineering background supported either by a degree / qualification or experience in the relevant field.

    Practical engineering knowledge with respect to health and safety, assembly, and operations.
    Willingness to travel for meetings and company witness.
    Work in a high-performance and challenging environment.

    Self-starter, with creative thinking skills and critical analysis capabilities.
