Permanent opportunity for an experienced Training and Competency Advisor to join a leading engineering and maintenance provider in Aberdeen.
In this position, you will play a key role in supporting the strategy and services of the training and competency function to ensure compliance with its requirements.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Proactively ensuring compliance (corporate and legislative) in process, documentation, policy and behaviour.
- Responsible for accurately maintaining personnel training and competency records to ensure full compliance with company procedures.
- Arranging, recording and monitoring competency assessments and communicating outcomes with personnel and project management.
- Coordinating personnel attending competency resits and further training as recommended by Managers.
- Updating incoming certification and competency within company training system.
- Supporting the trade assessment process and employee personal development plans.
- Document defined training and competence plans for external providers, including subcontractors.
- Identifying competence gaps and developing gap analysis plans.
- Performing regular audits and gap analysis on personnel training records.
- Supporting the business and participating in the continuous review and development of competency related systems and processes to ensure they remain robust and fitforpurpose.
- Ensuring their monitoring/status reports on gaps are actioned.
- Liaising with the company's external training partner to ensure all training requirements are met.
- Arranging and requesting training via the external training provider.
- Providing management and internal stakeholders on a regular basis, training and competency related reports, as agreed.
Applicants to this role require:
- Experience and understanding of technical competency processes and quality checking incoming competency information.
- Previous experience in a T&C or L&D role.
- Experience working in a fastpaced environments.
- Able to work under own initiative and operate under pressure.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- IT literate.
- Problem solver.
- Clear ability to lead and motivate a team.
