Contract Type:12 weeks temp to perm


Hours:
Full-Time 36 hours (8:30 AM - 4:00 PM, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday; 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, Wednesday)


Salary:
Competitive depending on experience

We are currently seeking a dedicated and resilient Social and Emotional Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our team and help make a profound impact on our students' lives.


Position Overview:

As a Social and Emotional Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students who face social and emotional challenges.

Your dedication and expertise will help these students overcome obstacles, improve their mental health, and achieve their academic potential.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Provide oneonone or smallgroup support to students experiencing social and emotional challenges.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies and interventions to support the social and emotional needs of students.
  • Provide oneonone and smallgroup support to students aged 711 experiencing social and emotional challenges.
  • Collaborate with teachers, counsellors, and support staff to create a holistic and nurturing learning environment.
  • Offer emotional support and guidance to students, helping them build selfesteem, resilience, and interpersonal skills.
  • Facilitate and lead group discussions and activities that promote emotional wellbeing.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students and communicate relevant information to the teaching and support staff.
  • Promote a culture of empathy, tolerance, and inclusion within the school community.

Requirements:


  • Prior experience working with students who have social and emotional challenges is highly valued.
  • Compassion, patience, and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on students' mental health.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability to respond to varying needs and situations.
  • A true passion for supporting students in their social and emotional development.
  • Relevant qualifications or certifications are a plus.
  • Provide details for us to complete reference checks prior to employment. _
  • Provide an Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one (which Pink Tile can assist with). _
