Job summary:
Are you an experienced Band 6 Physiotherapist looking to take that next step into a band 7 post looking for a new challenge whilst continuing to develop your clinical practice and leadership skills.
The post holder will have a diverse caseload of complex stroke patients and be instrumental in the development of the stroke therapy workforce.
We are looking for enthusiastic, self-motivated, innovative physiotherapists who would be able to support the development of the stroke pathway.
You will join our dynamic team of therapists who strive towards holistic recovery and regaining independence following admission, we are committed to continued professional and career development of all staff.
Main duties, tasks & skills required:
To take a lead role within the stroke in patient team, providing advanced Physiotherapy assessment and treatment of stroke patients with diverse presentations and complex physical and psychological conditions.
To use specialist skills to effectively manage caseload, work priorities including service delivery, patient and professional demands.- To be a source of expertise, to identify, analyse, evaluate and problem solve to enable the development and delivery of individualized intervention and treatment programmes in a variety of settings.
- To provide a consultative role with relatives and staff providing advice, recommendations
- To provide leadership and management on a daily basis to the therapy team
- To supervise, educate and assess the performance of students as required.
- To deliver training to multidisciplinary team members ensuring competence in performing duties within their agreed scope of practice.
- To collaborate with the stroke therapy workforce across the pathway.
- To undertake Evidence Based audit and research projects to further own and team's clinical practice, making recommendations for changes.
- To objectively aim to improve the SSNAP data working in partnership with the CTL and stroke leads.
- To work in close collaboration with carers and ESD teams as applicable to patients need.

Qualifications:
Essential:
Degree or diploma in Physiotherapy
Registered with HCPC
Evidence of CPD including recent post graduate training relevant to stroke & neurology and management/ leadership training
Experience:
Essential:
Strong leadership skills
An understanding stroke & neurological conditions
Broad range of skills in stroke & neurology
Highly developed communication, presentation & supervisory skills
Proven problem solving, clinical reasoning & decision making.
Committed to patient centred care
Knowledge & practice of HCPC & profession specific standards & guidelines
Broad range of experience at a senior level in stroke & neurology
Managing staff e.g. junior staff & support workers.
Multi-disciplinary working Audit
Team/service development
Implement change management on small or large scale
Experience of dealing with people who display inappropriate beh
