The Vacancy


We are recruiting for a Senior Support Worker to deliver an assessment, support and move on service to our clients in support accommodation.

This role is full time, permanent and based at our Safestop service in Manchester.


You'll support the Service Manager in overseeing a team of five (plus volunteers, students and night staff) supporting 15 young people aged 16-24 in the accommodation service ensuring their welfare and safety at all times.

This role will involve line managing staff and experience in supervising the work of others would be desireable. Knowledge and understanding of homelessness and working within a charity sector is essential to the role.

We are currently reviewing our salaries which will be updated from April 2023.

What will ideally support your success in this role?

  • Understanding and experience of working in a charity setting especially in homeless
  • Experience of using Risk Assessments and Support Planning Toolkits
  • Ability to build strong working relationships internally and with external stakeholders
  • Experience of supervising staff
  • Ability to demonstrate a clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and professional boundaries
