Description

This 9 month fixed term post will involve covering the Acute Stroke Unit as well as other inpatient wards; the post holder will hold their own caseload of patients including patients on short and long-term enteral feeds and those requiring oral nutritional support.

There would be MDT working in the stroke team, and other teams as required, involving working closely with other health professionals, including Speech and Language Therapists.

The post holder would be expected to support more junior members of the team with supervision and attachments.

This post would suit a Band 5 Dietitian looking to specialize, or a Band 6 Dietitian interested in working in different areas.

You will work, learn and develop alongside our therapy colleagues in speech and language, physiotherapy and occupational therapy, based within a new, purpose built building.

The successful post holder will provide a Dietetic service to the acute stroke unit and other inpatient wards. This will involve independently covering and prioritising a caseload, requiring good time management skills.

You will work together with the rest of the MDT team, to deliver effective, patient centred care, and should have good communication skills.

Experience in both oral and enteral nutrition support and MDT working would be beneficial.

We train student Dietitians from the University of Plymouth and the University of Winchester, and this post will be actively involved in student training.
