Mason Recruitment is seeking talented individuals to support learning at Phoenix Place, an exceptional all girls secondary SEMH provision in South West London.

Their mission is to create a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels valued and empowered to achieve her full potential.

They are looking for a compassionate and dynamic Teaching and Learning Support Assistant to join their team and contribute to their students' educational and personal development.

Overview Of The Role

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist teachers in planning, delivering, and evaluating lessons tailored to students' individual needs
  • Support students with SEMH needs in their academic learning and personal development, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Facilitate small group activities and 1:1 support sessions to help students overcome barriers to learning.
  • Monitor and record students' progress, providing feedback to students, teachers, parents and carers as required.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans.
  • Promote positive behavior and a supportive classroom environment, adhering to school policies and procedures.
  • Participate in training and professional development activities to enhance knowledge and skills related to SEMH.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members, parents/carers, and external agencies to support students' wellbeing and educational outcomes.
  • Assist in the organisation and supervision of school events, outings, and extracurricular activities.

Qualifications

  • Relevant qualification in education, psychology, or a related field (NVQ Level 2/3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent preferred).
  • ENIC statements for overseas qualifications will be considered.
  • Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH needs.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH and strategies to support their learning and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers.
  • Patience, empathy, and a commitment to inclusive education.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.

Work Pattern & Salary
Monday - Friday, Term Time Only

Full Time (8.30am-4.00pm)

Salary Range

Grade 2:
Term Time (£18,289 - £18,593)

Grade 3:
Term Time (£18,902 - £19,219)

Grade 4:
Term Time (£19,541 - £20,205)
