    Job Title: Research Scientist in Sensing

    The Hearables Innovation Team at Sonos is seeking a Research Scientist in Sensing to contribute to shaping the future of personalized listening experiences.

    What you'll do:

    Advanced technologies are integral to the evolution of Sonos hearables, encompassing research areas like spatial audio, adaptive noise cancellation, telephony, wearable computing, and sensing.

    As a Research Scientist specializing in Sensing for Hearables, your role involves exploring sensor technologies, signal processing, machine learning methods, and interaction concepts. This includes identifying new opportunities arising from advancements in the field and turning early concepts into scalable solutions.

    Skills You'll Need:

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Ability to analyze and solve complex problems effectively.
    • Expertise in areas such as sensor processing, brain-computer interaction, mobile and wearable computing, machine learning, spatial computing, and augmented hearing technologies.
    • Ph.D. in audio or related field.
    • Familiarity with fundamental DSP and ML techniques.
    • Experience in prototype hardware systems and proficiency in Python/Matlab and version control tools.
    • Excellent communication skills to convey research findings to diverse audiences.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Background in music or critical listening.
    • Track record of published papers in reputable journals or conferences.
