Your New Role:

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent highways maintenance operative to join our Area 7 contract in Northampton.


The salary is £24,000-£34,000 and the ability to earn additional overtime and shift allowance.

Our Area 7 account is to support Highways England.

This account is to maintain over 700 kilometers of roads across the East Midlands, ensuring the 4.5 million citizens across the East Midlands experience better journeys every day.


Highways maintenance operative plays an important part in providing pre-planned maintenance and response on our busy motorways/highways across East Midlands.


The standard hours of work are either a 4 on 4 off or 5/2 shift pattern

You will be responsible for:


  • Resurfacing and patching our Roads/footway/footpath ways
  • Maintaining our streetlights and Traffic signs
  • Responding to emergency incidents on the road network and contributing to corporate emergencies.

We want to hear from you if you have:
A HGV, LGV or class 2 licence.

Reliable and strong work ethic

Ideally you will be qualified in Street works with experience in Highways.


In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have high speed road experience to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
