About the role*:

As a Senior QA Engineer, you'll play an important role in the development of new and existing BigHand products.

Working as part of a high performing Agile team, it's your role to ensure the Product works exactly as it should and is delivered with high quality, The Senior QA Engineer's aim is to help the Agile and QA teams improve their knowledge of good testing practices and capability to deliver increased quality products.

This will be achieved with a focus on continuous self-learning and identifying the next areas for improvement.


What you'll do**:


  • Understand BigHand Scrum process and actively contribute to all Agile practices.
  • Maintain awareness of, and adherence to, BigHand test policy and standards.
  • Recommend strategies and methods to improves test plans and process
  • Attend sprint planning meetings and discuss testing issues.
  • Collaborate with developers/business analysts to design tests.
  • Generate test ideas and heuristics.
  • Write clear and concise bug reports and steps to reproduce.
  • Implement test strategies and regression plans.
  • Perform all types of manual exploratory testing
  • System, Functional, Performance and Regression testing against desktop apps, mobile apps, web sites and web services.
  • Coordinate test schedules, work and resource plans and manage progress of all activities against plan.
  • Prepares documentation to communicate involvement and results of quality assurance activities.
  • Ensure appropriate environments are readily available to the development and test teams.

What we're looking for:


  • A good understanding of Internet and desktop technologies and protocols.
  • A strong understanding of one or more querying languages, such as SQL, as well as programming languages like C#,.NET due to technical nature of the role.
  • Excellent knowledge of agile frameworks including SCRUM and Kanban.
  • Thorough knowledge of software defect tracking.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of project test strategy.
  • Ability to identify tasks, dependencies or risks during backlog grooming/planning.
  • Ability to provide reasonable test estimates.
  • Ability to create tests from stories/requirements.
  • Ability to execute tests and record test results.
  • Ability to communicate own ideas to other teams.
  • Desire to continuously improve both individually, and as a team.
  • Proven Ability to train and mentor others on testing techniques.
  • Able to create solutions and written documents independently.
  • Ability to identify methods to improves test plans and process.
  • Ability to articulate technical issues.
  • Possess problem solving abilities.
  • Possess the drive and intellectual curiosity to investigate issues
  • Ability to work on one's own initiative as well as within a team environment.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding and experience of using Automated Testing tools would be of great advantage.

Contract Duration: 6 Months
