An opportunity has arisen to join the Administrative Team within the ENT Department as a Waiting List Co-ordinator at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust.

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our ENT Head and Neck Hub based at the Queen's Medical Centre.


You will support a team of 3 Head and Neck Consultants in managing their 62 day cancer and 18 week RTT waiting lists as well as providing support to the wider waiting list team.

Main duties of the job


The main duties of the job role will be to provide waiting list support to a team of Head and Neck ENT Consultants as well as supporting the needs of the service as a whole.

You will liaise with your allocated Consultants to schedule the surgery lists and be responsible for adding/removing patients to the NUH waiting list, validating the waiting lists following the 18week RTT pathway + patient access policy and co-ordinating/booking admissions to NUH, using hospital IT systems.

You will be a conscientious and enthusiastic team player, with excellent organisational and communication skills.

You will have a good understanding of the 18 week RTT pathway, 62 day Cancer Pathway and Patient Access Policy.

You will need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of patient confidentiality, and be able to remain calm under pressure using your initiative to problem solve.

Qualifications:

Essential criteria

  • 5 GCSE's or equivalent C or above must include English
  • Computer literate to ECDL standard or equivalent.
Desirable criteria

  • RSA Level III in Admin or equivalent
Experience

Essential criteria

  • Proven experience in an admin role
  • Demonstrable experience of working to deadlines
Desirable criteria

  • Experience of managing waiting lists
  • Knowledge of 18 week RTT
  • Previous experience of admin role within NHS
Communication and relationship

Essential criteria

  • Must be able to clearly and accurately convey information verbally to different audiences
  • Ability and experience to be discerning in sensitive situations
  • Must be able to communicate with a wide range of healthcare professionals at different levels of seniority
