The BIP (Business Innovation & Partnerships) High Growth SME cluster supports UCLs engagement with innovative SMEs through innovation programmes.

These programmes provide a platform for UCL spinouts, start-ups, and associated SMEs to innovate, scale and grow nationally and internationally.


About the role:


The Innovate UK EDGE services delivered by UCL Innovation & Enterprise cover a key element of UCL's strategy in developing partnerships and engaging with high-growth SMEs who are likely to be innovating and using new technology, to grow, scale and internationalise.


As an Innovation & Growth Specialist, you will deliver the Innovate UK EDGE service to a portfolio of high-growth SMEs, spinouts, and start-ups on how to grow their business, commercialise their technology, and find international partners.

In particular, the jobholder will play a major role in scoping innovative SMEs, commercialising their R&D, accessing funding and finance opportunities, and supporting them in accessing new markets.


About you:


We are looking for someone with experience in strategy and management, or consultancy experience in the commercialising of ideas, including IP, access to finance and internationalisation.

The jobholder will be of exceptional high calibre, with experience of supporting and advising SMEs at various stages of the business life cycle, and experience working in or with emerging technologies across sectors (High-Value manufacturing, Materials, Engineering, DeepTech, Creative etc.).


We are operating hybrid working and you will have the opportunity to work remotely for up to 3 days a week if you wish.
