About Us
The Engineering Council is the UK regulatory body for the engineering profession. We hold the national registers of over 229,000 Engineering Technicians (EngTech), Incorporated Engineers (IEng), Chartered Engineers (CEng) and Information and Communications Technology Technicians (ICT_Tech_
).
In addition, the Engineering Council sets and maintains the internationally recognised standards of professional competence and ethics that govern the award and retention of these titles.
This ensures that employers, government, and wider society - both in the UK and overseas - can have confidence in the knowledge, experience and commitment of professionally registered engineers and technicians.
What you'll be doing
We are seeking a Finance Executive to support to the Fina32nce Manager in delivering effective and efficient administration of the Engineering Council's finance processes.
You'll be responsible for the day-to-day finance administration, including preparing the fortnightly payment runs, month end, bank and credit card reconciliations, credit control, invoicing, and account queries.
You will also assist with management reporting including monthly cash flow analysis, management accounts, debtors analysis, and project reporting, and provide secretariat support to the organisation's Finance and Remuneration Panel.
What we need from you
- Ability to communicate at all levels (written and oral)
- Able to work flexibly and effectively with others, to develop, and maintain relationships with key stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience of working with committees, including minute taking
- Numerate with experience of payroll or accounts
- Proactive in seeking to improve process
- A graduate or equivalent
- Accounting qualifications are desirable
