This is an exciting period at Isle of Wight within Adult Social Care, the service going through a redesign that enhances strength-based practice, collaborating with the community and third sector partners.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, and passionate individual to join the Access and Wellbeing Hub as a Social Worker, focusing on triaging safeguarding concerns.

As a qualified Social Worker, you should possess relevant qualifications, skills, and experience to handle a variety of complex caseloads, emphasizing the needs of the person and service. Excellent communication and relationship building skills are crucial, as well as ensuring the voices of those we support are heard. Sharing our ambitions and positive attitude will enable individuals to be safe from harm and abuse and lead fulfilling lives promoting their wellbeing.

The role will be part of the Wellbeing and Access Hub in the Local Authority Adult Social Care department, responsible for initial contact for all queries and safeguarding concerns raised. Experience in safeguarding work is essential, along with a broad understanding of Adult Social Care.

You will collaborate with a team to triage and assess safeguarding concerns according to the Care Act 2014. Working alongside individuals, families, advocates, and partner agencies to gather and assess relevant information, ensuring the wellbeing and safety of those involved.

You will hold professional curiosity, make evidence-based decisions, and demonstrate this through your work.

The successful candidate should hold a social work qualification and be SWE registered. Knowledge of relevant acts and ability to apply procedures is necessary. Participation in Out of Hours (OOH) duty stand-by may be required on occasion.
