Job Summary:

The post holder is responsible for the validation and submission of mandatory data on behalf of the Highly specialised Craniofacial Service to the various national and international societies including NHS England.

The post holder will supervise data collection and maintain database activity and analyse data as required within a number of work streams.

The post holder will work with the Departmental lead and various Clinical Leads. The Data Manager has overall responsibility for this data.


Main duties and Responsibilities Data The post holder will collect and collate relevant data from a variety of sources including case notes / patient databases, to ensure completeness and accuracy of the databases The post holder will need to have experience of processing data and they will be expected to interpret results in order to complete the data sets.

The post holder needs to be able to persuade doctors and other staff groups to provide a complete data set when they can be reluctant to devote time to searching for this information.

The post holder is responsible for devising and maintaining the standard operating procedures for data collection within the programme within the NHS Trust.

The post holder will be accountable for the day to day workload for the quality of the data and will be expected to exercise independent judgement when prioritising work and generating data sets.


The post holder will assist in pulling together information from databases in order to carry out quarterly audits along with conducting database enquiries for and outcome analyses.

The post holder will be expected to carry out quarterly audits along with regular audits identifying missing data points leading to action planning towards improved completion compliance.

The post holder will be expected to review all systems pertaining to the data management workload making the necessary changes along with continual develop, review and update of policies and standard operating procedures.

The post holder will lead on the maintenance of the database along with any development as needed.

Meetings The post holder will be required to provide data for various meetings to support clinical discussions/ audit processes. The post holder may also be required to attend National Audit meetings
