Gi Group are working with the FM services, and we have a great opportunity for a Maintenance Joiner to join their East Midlands Team.

The role is to support the NHS to deliver commercial building maintenance and to carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive maintenance and repairs to ensure the Trust's buildings are statutory compliant and fit for purpose.

You will be responsible for ensuring your work is carried out within the set priority for the task, and any work not completed will be highlighted to the Helpdesk for reallocation.

You will support the wider Estates and Facilities Team by providing multi-skilledtrade tasks across all disciplines.
You will be part of the Maintenance Mobile Operations Team and Delivering services across Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, and Leicestershire.

Main responsibilities of the Multi Skilled Technician - Electrical Bias

  • To undertake minor installation, repair work of the buildings
  • To be a customer focussed point of contact for the Estates and Facilities
  • To undertake minor installation/repair work on electrical systems and building fittings (following the required training).
  • To undertake technical tasks according to training and ability. E.g. electrical inspection and testing, act as authorised/responsible person for relevant disciplines.
  • To use all relevant tools and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's instructions and in compliance with health and safety guidelines, as appropriate.
  • Report fault alarms from building management system, attend plant and equipment, investigate and rectification of fault conditions.
  • Validation of decontamination equipment.
  • To play a part of actively delivering joinery and building solutions to the customer
  • To contribute to improving patent and visitor experience.

Skills and Attributes

  • IT skills, use of mobile devices used in conjunction with the delivery of Estates maintenance.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and codes of practice applicable to Estates maintenance in a healthcare setting.
  • A good understanding of customer care.

Essential qualifications:


  • City and Guilds or equivalent (Level 2 Minimum) in Electrical qualifications
  • Health and safety knowledge
  • Commercial experience
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
