Job summary:

Government Recruitment Service (GRS) was launched in September 2017 and is part of the Government People Group (GPG) in the Cabinet Office.

GRS is a vibrant, modern and exciting place to work, attracting a diverse workforce which represents the people we serve.

We deliver around 70% of the recruitment volume across the Civil Service and aspire to be the recruitment partner of choice for all Civil Service departments, agencies and approved non-departmental public bodies.

This role consists of 3 main areas - learning delivery (with some design on an ad hoc basis), volunteer management of the Associate Trainers, and coordination of various delivery partners to ensure learning events run smoothly.

Leading on delivery of learning for GRS - you will be the face of learning in our business - greeting new joiners, and helping current staff to excel.

You will use your experience delivering excellent learning experiences in a variety of delivery methods to ensure our staff learn and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to do their jobs and further their careers.

Your focus will be classroom learning (in person and virtual), and you will work with the Learning Design and Delivery Manager and L&D Business Partners to ensure these formal learning opportunities are embedded in informal on the job, peer to peer and experiential learning opportunities.

Responsibility for the Associate Trainers will involve the entire volunteer management cycle - from recruitment, to onboarding, to engagement and learning, to ending and succession planning.

You will need to research how and when they will be involved in training delivery, and then work with the business to recruit suitable people to fill those roles.

You will work with the Learning Design and Delivery Manager to quality assure their output - from train the trainer on arrival, to evaluation, to giving feedback and more.

You will also need to ensure they are happy and motivated by the work they do by building trusting relationships, allocating work according to motivational drivers, and providing reward and recognition.

Behind every great training programme is a well-oiled administrative function, and you'll be responsible for ensuring ours works as it should.

We have colleagues in the Recruitment Operations team who can pick up administrative support to help us deliver our inductions, and you'll need to ensure they have everything they need at their fingertips, and know exactly what is expected.

You'll be project managing the entire operation and ensuring everything and everyone links together to run courses.

You'll also be in charge of learning communications - ensuring people know what's on offer from our team and can sign up, and providing inspiration and advice on what's available elsewhere.
