We are opening a new service and are looking

for a Children's Home Administrator
To provide administrative support to a staff team that look after children with emotional & behavioural difficulties.


Location Central Manchester


Hours 16 hours per week


Salary £9,080.75 annual salary

  • Two yearly salary increments.
  • 27 days annual leave rising to 30 after 5 years and 33 after 10 years plus bank holidays (Prorata)

Main Responsibilities

  • To establish, monitor and maintain administrative systems which ensure that the records of the young people in residence are accurate and up to date.
  • To function as a point of contact between the home and outside organisations and individuals to minimise the diversion of operational staff.
  • To be responsible for the security of the office and its contents ensuring the confidentiality of records and information relating to the children and staff.
  • To collate information and provide regular reports for both internal and external agencies on the home, children's outcomes, and other statistical information as requested.
  • To undertake routine office work, including word processing for the Registered Manager and staff team, including accurate and concise minutes of meetings.
  • To act in a discrete and professional manner, always ensuring confidentiality.

About the service
The service is based in central Manchester, providing support for children with emotional & behavioural difficulties.


About you & Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 3 in Administration or equivalent, or willingness to work towards the award.
  • Previous experience of office work, preferably in a residential setting
  • Efficient and accurate keyboard skills and ability to use Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
  • Good standard of written and oral English
  • Good people skills with the ability to liaise internally and externally in a confident and professional manner.
  • Ability to prioritise work and to use initiative.
  • Ability to work as a team member.
