One of the leading law firms in Gloucestershire is looking for a Head of Wills and Probate to join their senior leadership team.


Responsibilities

  • To inspire and motivate team members
  • Review workload and progress of the department
  • Attend and conduct team meetings
  • Attend HOD meetings
  • Deliver fee targets and ensure team members do so
  • Responsibility for unpaid costs, unbilled disbursements and review WIP
  • Initial consultations
  • Preparation of Wills, advice on Trusts, capacity, Inheritance Tax
  • Advising with respect to Trusts and preparation of appropriate Trust Documents
  • Advising and liaising with clients on contentious probate matters and deputyships
  • Ongoing case management
  • Management and development of departmental precedents
  • Ongoing Will bank management
  • Client relationship management
  • Mediation and Negotiation on contested matters
  • Networking and business development for contentious workflows
  • Reviewing and managing WIP and client financing in relation to ongoing matters
  • To achieve fees to meet monthly and yearend targets
  • Attend team meetings and courses where appropriate
  • Keep files well organised and property updated in accordance with the firm's policies
