One of the leading law firms in Gloucestershire is looking for a Head of Wills and Probate to join their senior leadership team.
Responsibilities
- To inspire and motivate team members
- Review workload and progress of the department
- Attend and conduct team meetings
- Attend HOD meetings
- Deliver fee targets and ensure team members do so
- Responsibility for unpaid costs, unbilled disbursements and review WIP
- Initial consultations
- Preparation of Wills, advice on Trusts, capacity, Inheritance Tax
- Advising with respect to Trusts and preparation of appropriate Trust Documents
- Advising and liaising with clients on contentious probate matters and deputyships
- Ongoing case management
- Management and development of departmental precedents
- Ongoing Will bank management
- Client relationship management
- Mediation and Negotiation on contested matters
- Networking and business development for contentious workflows
- Reviewing and managing WIP and client financing in relation to ongoing matters
- To achieve fees to meet monthly and yearend targets
- Attend team meetings and courses where appropriate
- Keep files well organised and property updated in accordance with the firm's policies
Skills/ Experience:
- A proven record of accomplishment in organising their own personal workload as well as motivating and leading others.
- The ability to determine priorities and consistently meet deadlines.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Proactive with good interpersonal skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

- High level of attention to detail and an enquiring mind
- The ability to manage time effectively, prioritising tasks to ensure that deadlines are met
