Our client has an exciting new position and a great opportunity for a Health and Well Being Coach to work within their Lister Residential Care and Support scheme.

We are a forward thinking, values driven housing association.

This role is based in Gleadless, Sheffield.


Job Description:


  • 4B/C £29,930£32,067 pro rata
  • Working hours 25 per week Monday to Friday (including occasional evenings and weekends work with residents where identified)

More about the role:

  • The Health and Wellbeing Coach will provide support to adults with enduring mental health conditions who are currently living in, or who will move into Lister Project residential accommodation.
  • The primary focus of the role is to move away from a maintenance approach and to support individual customers with their living skills to move towards greater independence, including those customers identified for recovery and out of 24/7 residential provision.
  • The main purpose of the role is to manage a case load of 12/15 customers identified by the Registered Project Lead and Team for work around enhancing insight, confidence, quality of life and wellbeing, resilience and independent living skills using therecovery focused therapeutic approach. The aim being to develop skills tenable to a move into more independent accommodation.
  • The Health and Wellbeing Coach reports to the Registered Project Lead and works in tandem with Project Leads, Keyworkers, Promoting Independence team as well as Statutory Health and Social Care representatives.

Who you are:


The health and Wellbeing Coach will be a person-centred case worker, leading on action planning and working with customers to build on skills and assets that can support their journey to live independently.


An essential requirement of the role is prior experience and a qualification in Counselling (or other psychology related qualification) Occupational Therapy or Allied Health Professional Qualification at Degree level which would meet the requirements forrelevant accreditation e.g.

BACP, NMC, HCPC.

  • Have coaching /motivational interviewing qualification or experience
  • Ability to adopt a strengthbased coaching/motivational interviewing approach to support customers.
  • Ability to work to an outcome
- based model whilst evidencing improving people's health and well-being.

  • Ability to work on your own initiative and organise own workload.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people and work as part of a multidisciplinary team and understand partnership working.
