  • As part of our great team in Mercedes-Benz Trucks, we are happy to be sharing an opportunity to come and work for us as our new Expedition Specialist. In this role, you will be a key member of the team at our new, state of the art Parts Logistics Centre in Milton Keynes.

  • Reporting to the Supply Chain and Inventory Manager within the Truck Parts Logistics Department, you will be a key liaison point to ensure that communication is being shared with the wider dealer network on a customer order delay queries. Monitoring individual requests and working with the company policies and initiatives of "Customer First" values. Working in parallel with Supply Chain and Inventory Management Specialist and Logistic Coordinator to maintain prioritisation of parts management to the network, with a hands on approach within the Warehouse and to proactively work with the 3PL partner to clear bottlenecks. Also to build relationships with complete European Markets to aid Parts escalation teams in fulfilling orders that parts are sent to our customers keeping delays to a minimum. Circulating reports to wider stakeholders and managing fundamental data cleanse, which will include processing back order cancellations ensuring that communication is clear and concise. Participating in a continuous improvement culture through best practice sharing, standard work, 5S and involvement in improvement projects
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Provide specialised and expertise to all internal and external customers at all levels for various escalation queries, parts logistics and procurement cases.
  • To use IT system parameter settings to ensure the most important, urgently required customer VOR cases are prioritised and released.
  • Track, trace, and take ownership of the various manually ordered inbound parts orders.
  • Be responsible ensuring all recall/safety recall orders are controlled successfully, escalating any complex queries to the appropriate colleague for a quick resolution.
  • Maintain and control backorders ensuring longterm backorders are identified, escalated and resolved. The use of predetermined Key Performance Indicators to monitor performance trends against targets and identifying efficiencies where appropriate.
  • Analyse and report all part delays to Customers Orders working with internal stakeholders to ensure the correct communication is being shared within the dealer network
  • To provide the Daimler Truck UK Dealer Network with the requested inventory to ensure the "Customer First" values are being maintained, ensuring SLAs and targets are achieved, communicating challenges to mitigate dissatisfaction.
  • Prioritising and managing high level requests escalated by Parts Logistics Management:
  • Data cleanse to ensure that the systems are processing ordering accurately working with Dealer Network to process any errors and ensuring correct stakeholders are advised
  • Managing Service measures and Campaigns for all Divisions:
  • Managing and controlling the wholesale to wholesale process.
About you

  • You will understand the relationship between stock and service with an appreciation of cost across the whole supply chain.
  • Ideally you will have strong IT skills and attention to detail, strong analytical and problem solving skills. Good interpersonal skills are essential, as is the confidence to deal with matters with tact and diplomacy. An ability to analyse and audit dealer orders and identify anomalies and the ability to manage own workload and work without close supervision. Communication with customers is part of this role as is a flexible approach in managing the day to day workload.
  • Good all round knowledge of software packages MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • A knowledge of the aftermarket automotive industry would be an advantage along with an understanding of European supply chains. You will have a basic understanding of lean techniques and continuous improvement plus a willingness to learn and step out of your comfort zone and participate in projects across the business.
