Description

Our client, a well established and highly regarded legal practice based in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Law Costs Draftsperson or Costs Lawyer to work within their in-house costs team.

Your caseload will include high value civil recovery and personal injury work. You will be required to undertake all work associated with drafting of bills of costs and points of dispute.

You will require excellent client management and communication skills.

Responsibilities will include:

Prepare costs budgets (Precedent H)
Deal with costs management negotiations
Prepare statements of costs for summary assessment or schedules of costs for negotiation
Prepare points of dispute and replies
Undertake negotiations
Prepare requests for Provisional and Detailed Assessment
Prepare and issue Part 8 proceedings
Request Default Costs Certificates where appropriate
Provide clients with the required legal advice

Experience required

5 years' minimum experience working with legal costs in a high volume, deadline driven environment
Competent and comfortable using Proclaim
Excellent communication and organisation skills are essential
Excellent in using Excel, Word and PowerPoint
Experience working with the electronic bill of costs

Salary:
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
